Towbar Fitting - Level 2

Fitting towbars is a fully skilled job demanding both mechanical skills and creative problem solving. For anybody wanting a career that is varied, physically demanding and mentally stimulating. This is it!

Training for a towbar fitter is extremely important. With new vehicles, more complex trim and electrics, a towbar fitter has to have a basic knowledge of towbar and vehicle issues almost right from the start. Understanding potential risk areas and the knowledge to work within them is a key skill that all towbar fitters should be armed with.

Starting from within the workplace or from home using this well structured and easy to understand correspondence course gives the opportunity to start on this career path by gaining a solid introduction to all the important facets of towbar fitting and positive progress assessment.

Designed for: People who wish to start a towbar fitting career, HR Managers, Owners and Workshop fitters who wish to commence towbar fitting or have responsibility within their organisations for training new workshop staff.

Summary: The course sets out a logical framework of standard towbar fitting and wiring procedures and disciplines.

The delegates completes the different sections at their own pace. Covering automotive electrical theory, tools and equipment, use of test instruments, ‘best practice’ in towbar fitting, towbar wiring and the safety issues surrounding vehicle and work place preparation.

These sections are then tested with written questions and followed with an important telephone interview assessment to confirm the delegate's understanding of the course content and evaluate their progress.

This course is certificated by the National Trailer & Towing Association who represent the UK towing industry..

The course can be used by workshop managers or managerial staff to mentor and guide trainees through the course and quickly bring them up to a competent workshop standard.

If you are working from home or outside the towbar industry, and in addition to the training course you would like to gain "hands on" practical experience. We can arrange short term "work experience" placements within independent towbar fitting companies.
