Towbar
Fitting & Wiring - Advanced
Towbar Fitting & Wiring - Advanced:
With new technology constantly being added into motor vehicle
management systems, nearly all vehicle manufacturers are now demanding
that any accessory being fitted into their vehicle has to become
a direct extension of the whole vehicle management system.
This creates a problem for towbar fitting as the fitter may be
open to litigation if 'on board' vehicle safety systems are not
activated. To reduce this liability towbar installers must be equipped
to understand and work with these new vehicle systems so safety
features such as vehicle and trailer Electronic Stability Programs
react and operate as the vehicle manufacturer intended.
Designed for:
All people who have either completed the intermediate course
in Towbar Fitting & Wiring or experienced towbar installers
who have responsibility for fitting and wiring towbar's on the new
CANbus management system vehicles.
This single day course is based around the new CANbus vehicle systems,
TSP (Trailer Stability Program), ESP (Electronic Stability Program)
and their implications for the fitter.
The course provides a combination of theory, practical activity
and informed discussion addressing current vehicle issues and the
opportunity to understand and offer the correct interactive towing
electric solution for these vehicles.
All successful delegates will receive an NTTA Unit Award certificate
valid for 5 years.
All delegates details and achievements will be recorded in the
NTTA National Skills Register.
