Foundation
in Towbar Fitting & Wiring
Training your
new workshop staff is extremely important. With new vehicles, more
complex trim and electrics, a fitter has to have a basic knowledge
of towbar and vehicle issues almost right from the start. Understanding
potential risk areas and the knowledge to work within them is a
key skill that all towbar fitters should be armed with.
Training within
the workplace using this low cost correspondence course gives the
opportunity for a new trainee to start on their career path by gaining
a solid introduction to towbar fitting and positive progress assessment.
Training will significantly reduce safety risks and unnecessary
damage costs.
Designed
for: HR
Managers, Owners and Workshop fitters who wish to start towbar fitting
or have responsibility within their organisations for hiring and
training new workshop staff.
Summary: The
course provides a logical framework of standard towbar fitting and
wiring disciplines which combines
in-house practical activity with supporting theory. The course is
designed to allow a member of workshop or managerial staff to mentor
and guide the trainee through the course.
The delegates
completes the different sections at their own pace. Covering basic
automotive electrical theory, equipment, use of test instruments,
‘best practice’ in towbar fitting, towbar wiring and
the safety issues surrounding vehicle and work place preparation.
These sections
are then tested with written questions and a follow up telephone
assessment with the delegate which will enable Towing Solutions
to evaluate the trainee's progress.
On successful
completion of the course an NTTA certificate is awarded.
