Towbar Installation Trainer Needed

We're a leading training company in the towing industry, and we're currently on the lookout for a skilled trainer to spearhead our Towbar Installation courses. This role is perfect for someone who combines a deep understanding of mechanics, towbar installation and electrics with a knack for engaging and educating others in a clear and relatable manner.

This role is an excellent fit for individuals who may be semi-retired and would like to continue working in the industry and are eager to mentor and guide others in acquiring practical, hands-on skills. We will offer training in facilitation and specific skills that are required within our course modules.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver our structured IMI and NTTA training sessions on towbar installation, ensuring they are understandable for beginners and advanced delegates.
  • Curriculum Development: Help to continuously develop and update the training curriculum to include the latest towbar technologies, installation techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Practical Demonstrations: Perform hands-on demonstrations of towbar fitting and electrical installations, showcasing best practices and common pitfalls.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess trainee progress through practical and theoretical evaluations, providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
  • Tool and Safety Training: Educate trainees on the proper use of tools and equipment while emphasising the importance of safety procedures.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of new developments in towbar systems and automotive technologies to ensure training material is current and relevant.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: A good all-round experience in towbar installations, with a thorough understanding of various towbars, electrics and vehicle systems.
  • Teaching Ability: Previous experience in teaching or training would be an advantage but the ability to communicate the automotive technical information in an easy-to-understand manner is very important.
  • Qualifications: Towbar fitting and wiring experience is a must. Relevant certifications in automotive engineering, mechanics, or a related field are useful or additional qualifications in education or training are a plus.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of different learners and to work flexible hours if necessary.

Trailer Towing Driving Instructor Needed


Trailer Training Instructor required to instruct pupils wanting to learn to tow and manoeuvre trailers, horse trailers etc. Sessions last 4 (half day) to 7 hours (full day), depending on the number of pupils, cars and trailers provided. This job requires a good knowledge of the highway code and experience in trailer towing.  Experience in driving instruction, HGV or just car and trailer will be considered. 

Must enjoy working with people, have good communication skills, patience and a good sense of humour.

Duties:

  • Conduct towing driving lessons for students with differing skill levels
  • Teach students the relevant towing laws, a simple and effective pre-towing inspection routine
  • Provide hands-on instruction in various driving environments, such as town streets, highways, and rural areas
  • Demonstrate proper towing techniques and manoeuvres, including snaking and instability control and reversing and safe manoeuvring
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their towing skills
  • Ensure a safe learning environment by following all safety protocols and guidelines 

Skills:

- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record

- Excellent knowledge of towing laws and regulations

- Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback

- Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles

- Flexibility to work weekends as needed


This role is ideal for someone who is semi-retired or seeking a part-time opportunity to leverage their expertise with flexible hours

Caravan Towing Driving Instructor Needed


Caravan Training Instructor required to instruct pupils wanting to learn to tow and manoeuvre caravans. Sessions last 4 (half day) to 7 hours (full day), depending on the number of pupils. This job requires a good knowledge of the highway code and experience in caravan towing.
