Advanced Towbar Technician with Diagnostics
With new technology constantly being added into motor vehicle management systems, nearly all vehicle manufacturers are now demanding that any accessory being fitted into their vehicle has to become a direct extension of the whole vehicle management system.
This creates a problem for towbar fitting as the fitter may be open to litigation if 'on board' vehicle safety systems are not activated. To reduce this liability towbar installers must be equipped to understand and work with these new vehicle systems so safety features such as vehicle and trailer Electronic Stability Programs react and operate as the vehicle manufacturer intended.
All the delegates will receive relevant and useful information which will help them to work with more confidence on newer vehicle systems.
Designed For
All people who have either completed the Towbar Technician course or the assessment questions and have responsibility for installing towbar's on the new CANbus management system vehicles.
This single day course is based around learning about the new CANbus vehicle systems, TSP (Trailer Stability Program), ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and understanding the practical and potential implications for the towbar technician.
Vehicle specific wiring kits and their application are covered in detail. Diagnostic software will be demonstrated providing an overview on re-coding vehicle management systems for fault code removal and also to activate towing functions.
The course provides a combination of theory, practical activity and informed discussion addressing current vehicle issues and the opportunity to understand and offer the correct interactive towing electric solution for these vehicles.
